For those wondering about Chinese nobility rankings, the ranks might not be used depending on the Chinese dynastic era, but in general

王 Wang, King or Prince
亲王 Qingwang, First Ranked Prince - usually reserved for the emperor's son or his brother
郡王 Junwang, Second Ranked Prince - usually reserved for sons of the crown prince or first ranked princes
公主 Gongzhu, Princess - Usually reserved for the emperor's daughter, sister and paternal aunts
郡主 Junzhu, Commandery Princess or Second Ranked Princess - daughters of a crown prince, first ranked princes or princesses (this it isnt common to bestow a title on the female side unless the second ranked princess married a high ranking official or a duke)
縣主 Xianzhu, County Princess or Third Ranked Princess - daughters of second ranked princes
公 Gong, Duke (Can also literally mean male)
侯 Hou, Marquis
伯 Bo, Earl or Count (can also literally mean uncle)
子 Zi, Viscount (can literally mean boy or son)
男 Nan, Baron (literally mean male or man)

Notice the nobility ranks Duke below draws from Chinese characters that are male nouns

So in this case, Hongyi is a Princess of the Second rank (second ranked princess) so her father is either the emperor's son or the emperor's brother, making her the emperor's granddaughter or niece
And no she doesnt become Fang Han's wife

I'm kind of amused by the list because some of the words have different meaning for me.
wang = 3rd male leg
hou sounds like hoe
nan = indian bread or another name for grandmother.

Dase • 2 years ago

lol funny enough another hou 猴, means monkey, and it is pronounced the same as the one for marquis 侯, even the character is similar

vio • 2 years ago

lol I guess I must have an affinity for that one considering my Chinese birth sign is monkey.

Dase • 2 years ago

lol, Marquis (houye) eh?

"People born in a year of the Monkey have magnetic personalities and are witty and intelligent. Personality traits like mischievousness,
curiosity, and cleverness make them very naughty.
Monkeys are masters of practical jokes, because they like
playing most of the time. Although they don't have bad intentions, their
pranks sometimes hurt other people's feelings.
Monkeys are fast learners and crafty opportunists. They have
many interests and need partners who are capable of stimulating them.
While some like the eccentric nature of Monkeys, others don't trust
their sly, restless, and inquisitive nature.
Although they are clever and creative, Monkeys can't always exhibit their talents properly. They like to accept challenges and prefer urban life to rural life."

vio • 2 years ago

lol, not a marquis no. The rest of that was about 70-80% correct for me but I dont play jokes on people unless I know how far I can go without them getting upset by it. Creativity is one skill I'm not very good with and I prefer rural life compared to urban as I prefer nature and open spaces.

lol there are always exceptions to the rule, especially those who were born right after the normal calendar new year and before the Lunar new year, so they are half of the previous year and half of the current zodiac year lol

Ouch!!! My brain hurts 🤯🤯🤯 I think I'll just stick to her being princess 😅😅😅

Dase • 2 years ago

lol just think of it this way - prince and princess like general
You have brigadier general, major general, lieutenant general, so you have third ranked prince/princesses, then second ranked and first ranked lol
(be glad I didnt go into the subdivision of each of the third, second and first ranked, if the dynastic era rewards "pearls" or allocated a sub level, 7 pearl first ranked prince or first tier first ranked prince lol)
But princess is correct, just like when we refer to a general, except for those in the military where they expect to call brigadier, major or lieutenant general lol

The army style I can understand easily. Royalty style......never mind my brain is still hurting😅😅😅

Shi Hao did you reincarnate into this world and became a female fairy crane? You are drooling like you always do when talking about meat lol

Fan Han, you should have thrown that fat ugly guy off the cliff and let him join the horse

And OMG who is translating this, you or you guys are doing a wonderful job!

vio • 2 years ago

it wouldnt surprise me if the fairy crane asked him later on to cook one of her own kind or if he teased her with meat just to make her drool again. Although they are doing a good job in translation I am curious about the use of "help me" instead of "save me", is it the way its said that defines which one is used?

Dase • 2 years ago

Jiu wo can mean "Save me" or "help me", both can work, but in this instance I guess "save me" would have been a better one to use. Kind of when a man is drowning and shouts "save me!" or "help!"
Normally "Help" associated with a helping hand is usually "bang" or "bang mang" and not "jiu" which is save or rescue

There's a few words the translator used that I would have used another word for it but I guess it would work, when the supervisor calls him an asshole, I would have used you dog slave, it carries the meaning of Fang Han's current status, the next line would have made sense when he replies my father said it is better to be a beggar than a slave (it is actually slave in the novel, but they changed it to servant, which can work since the word Nu can also mean servant) But I am being picky lol

Jalaluddin Aris • 2 years ago

Indeed their translating is one of the best I've seen so far.

Dloony • 2 years ago

was getting some "How to train your dragon" feels during that flight scene lol

Jalaluddin Aris • 2 years ago

That is some rollercoaster ride! Ah.... actually make it crane ride.

OfficialDrixMalone • 2 years ago

Yes, he finally did it guys, he taught that fat a$$ c0ck sucker a brutal lesson, though I wanted him to torture him more but he humiliated him showing how weak and pathetic fatty is lol!! I would've dangled him off the mountain and had him shii himself, hang him off a tree leaving him there for a day or so 🤷🏾‍♂️😂. Should've beat those servant pricks too.

But it seems like the Commandery Princess Hongyi is seeking a mate, one with a strong physique and genes for her offspring aha. Qingxue has some competition now, should be interesting.

Damn, looks like the MC can't catch a break with troublemakers, he solves one problem then another replaces the last, these people must be demonic smh. Though his troubles are our entertainment aha 🤷🏾‍♂️.

Aerlis Ambrosius • 2 years ago

Well Hongyi is quite different here than in the novel. He doesn't meet her until he becomes a disciple himself and right now he is just a servant. He becomes a disciple when his cultivation reaches the 7th rank or so and Hongyi befriends him for purely mercenary reasons. She is a bloodthirsty killer and her personality is a fair bit different here than in the novel. Also, they seem to be blending Hongyi's character with Qingxue's chief servant in terms of the story in this episode. I guess they don't want to introduce too many characters or too much complexity.

Dase • 2 years ago

Yeah I can see they are going to make changes just like with Fanren, although the changes are a lot more than Fanren

Aerlis Ambrosius • 2 years ago

Yes, but up till now the changes were an improvement. It made the story better and a bit tighter and easier to understand. The changes to Hong Li in this episode I will reserve my judgement on and see how it plays out before I really venture an opinion on them.

Dase • 2 years ago

Yeah not sure if they will change her to become one of his wives, I doubt it since there are plenty of Fang Han's other wives yet to appeared
